Hello all….I hope you are all having a wonderful Sunday. It is a beautiful day in my little part of the world. Maybe it is my imagination, or wishful thinking on my part, but I swear I feel a touch of fall in the air. I know I mentioned it the other day so please forgive my preoccupation with fall, but I am looking forward to the change. The golden rods are blooming here…that is a sure sign! Have you ever noticed how nature seems to provide the perfect pallet…for example the golden rods next to the beauty berries…golden yellow intertwined with brilliant magenta. When I see such things I am in awe…nature is our teacher if we take the time to really see. We are all so busy..so busy that we can rush past the unfolding gifts that surround us every second.
I know I may sound sappy…but I cannot help it. Slip outside for a few minutes and you will not only find beautiful things to see but an on going symphony…free of charge. For example…this morning Ringo, my little dog, and I walked to pick up our paper. It is a winding road through a little woodland. Walking your dog forces you to slow down…we can learn so many lessons from them too….for nothing gets by them. Slowing down forced me to not only see..but to hear. Had I rushed I would not have noticed the sounds too…I was in the middle of a concert…the music of the earth…composed by nature.
Ringo (one of my many teachers)
The other day a dear person sent me some advice in a comment “sometimes it’s good to take it easy and let the creative well fill up” …what sage words for all of us. This morning my heart filled up and I encourage all of you to go outside to look, listen, and fill up.
After a bit I hope to write to you about trash bugs…
until later then…
