No painting today :~(. I ended up going through tons of pictures that I took last year in Italy. I selected about fifteen, and from those I will paint some new pieces. I hope to paint a few along the lines of this one that is different than most on my web site (Landscape/Tuscany gallery).
Tuscan Moon (click on image to enlarge)
This was the last painting I did in Tuscany. We were putting our supplies away early because we were to have a show that night. I walked on a full moon night, and this image remained in my mind. I wanted to paint it before I forgot how it looked and made me feel. Another artist gave me a piece of canvas which I thought would work perfectly. So I put it on the ground and painted it very quickly. I had it framed in a black shadow box so the frame is not touching it. I wanted to to keep the freeness of it. I recently had glicee’ prints made from it.
Enough about Tuscan Moon…back to the photographs. It is amazing how you can go back to photos and find something different each time. Images that I thought I would not paint now appeal to me. I may try to put the photos I end up using on here so you can see them.
I did put some of the photos on my web site…I decided to make a photography II gallery. I had forgotten how beautiful windows and floors can be. Tomorrow I hope to add a few more.
