Painting palettes contain
the artist’s energy
and
sometimes…
an energy,
of
their own.
~
I often allow a palette to completely dry before removing it with the palette knife. I love to see how the remaining ribbons of colors weave in and out..forming a creation, of their own. Sometimes I find them even more interesting than the original paintings. Ha! If I find them particularly interesting I’ll shoot it with my digital. Once in a while I see things that really surprise me…such was the case with this image.
Those of you that have a history with me know I often have faces and creatures appear in my work. You may remember the Yellow Moon Series..it’s on this page on my art web site:mixed media.
Anyway, I took a shot of this a palette and sometime later I viewed it to see some interesting things, including this face..looking back, at me.
Am I mad..or do you see it too?
Hmmm…maybe ’tis simply my own imagination staring back at me. :)
Well, this will be brief today. There is much going on in my world (including some upcoming shows)! As usual, my mind is filled with wild and imaginative energies..even more so, as of late. More about Morri and how that came to be, in time.
I hope all is good in your worlds! I still enjoy hearing from you on here, emails, and facebook! I’ll be back soon.
Good and creative energies to you,
~gypsy-he♥rt (aka Morri)
Ps Here is the total image I shot (click on it to enlarge). I see another series in the making..of its’ own. (Hint: look at the upper middle)

I LOVE this! And yes, I definitely see the face, too. I saw it before I read what you posted and wondered how you got all the mixture of shadings like that.
Maybe….that imagination has taken over my mind?!
The face is so obvious~~but, I see the gypsy dancing!!
Hopefully, you will see her too with her skirt flurring around her as she dances.
Love this <3 and
Love your HEART !
Good evening dearest Gypsy-Heart!
YES! YES! I definitely see a face.
I clicked the image to enlarge, and when I did…I saw the face of a fox.
Am I mad?
So glad to hear about your upcoming show and that your mind is fill will all sorts of wild and imaginative energies!
Can’t wait to see and hear more!
Hope you had a grrrrrrreat weekend, dear heart!
X ya!
Absolutely incredible!!!!!!
I guess if these are the tools which you are using to create and express, why wouldn’t this also be a creation in itself? How you blend, set the paint upon the pallette, what colors you have the most and least of……
I love it. <3
Oh wow, I see a face in that palette. Reminds me of a Chinese mask worn during their new years celebration. Cool that we all see something different.
Gypsy, girl you are so crazy, but in a good way. When I saw that face on the first pallette, it looked scary! I couldn’t believe it. Then I saw the face ont he second pallette, and the face is so clear and calming! How the faces come through the pallette is amazing; like nature making it’s own art with what it has left. Quite spiritual.
Thanks for sharing GH.
Love Ya, C.
Isn’t that the most magic part of art making? Finding those unexpected faces! I have always seen the faces waiting there for me to bring them out – I am so glad I am not the only one who sees these faces in dried puddles of paint! Go visit my blog when you have time and see the most recent weird faces that appeared using CitraSolve cleaning concentrate on top of random magazine pictures, this is really a fun technique for me because I always see faces anyway!
I hope you are doing well and having a lovely year – even though it is winter still.
Olivia
April~ I am glad you saw it before you read my words! :) Since you read my words..you know “it” created itself. Ha!
Leigh Anne~ So nice to see you here! I think I do see the gypsy dancing!
Thank you for leaving me note here!
I love your HEART too!
Ron~ I knew you would see it! I will look to see if I can see the fox too!
I will keep you posted about the shows! As always, thank you for your encouragement!! mwah!
I hope all is good in your world!
X ya back!
Vanessa~ I like the way you put it…the tools that created become a creation! :)
Thank you, my friend!
♥’s to you!
Ybonesy~ I agree..it does look like a Chinese mask. It is cool..we all see differently…could be we see what we want to see? :)
CordieB~ Ha, ha..scary huh? I can “see” that, and I can see spiritual too!!
So glad you stopped by!
Love ya too!
Olivia~ No you are not the only one! :)
I will have to get over to see what you are doing! ‘Tis good you are learning new things creating!
All in all I am doing well..thank you for asking. I hope you are too!
Yes it is still winter..even here in Florida!! :O
I’ve been very much tardy with reading and commenting here – and elsewhere.
I see a “baboon” like face – and goodness, I know the painting palettes are not mirrors – but the unformed image and shifting shape might arise out your unconsciousness – perhaps you have been watching “Lost” and it’s “bleeding” over into the your day-to-day world? Is a “doodle-like” thing or happy accident? Hmmm… life is pretty mysterious out on the limbs and edges.
I hope you are well and you are making lots of palettes that need cleaning – for that means you are making works of art that we await eagerly to see.
