Gather your roses while you may
old time is still aflying
and this same flower that smiles today,
tomorrow will be dying.
Hello Dear Hearts..
As noted this painting is unfinished. I thought about removing the empty bottle, but I think I will leave it be. It is as the title says…a last rose of summer, one from my garden. I think cut roses are much like this piece, unfinished…
~they don’t really die..they just change~
Their beauty continues beyond life upon the rose bush. Have you ever noticed how much sweeter the fragrance, and richer and deeper the colors become…after they leave the planet plant?
This unfinished piece is dedicated to my cousin, Belinda Tracy Hubbard. My family and some of you know why. I plan to do a special piece in her honor soon…I am thinking one of desert roses (among her favorite flowers). I’ll tell you more about her and the piece, when the time is right.
I hope your worlds have been full of love and light since we last chatted. I wish I had time to post and visit every day, or two, or three, etc as some of you do, but I have accepted that I do not. Lately, weekly has been a challenge. I have been stepping into your blogs as often as I can, but I think for some of you, not often enough..and I do understand. All is as it should be though…we come and we go. :)
So, I write this heart message for those of you, still stopping by…
Life is about the lessons, and lately, I’ve been pondering EvErYtHiNg! I dare say, we all do that at times, but this time I’ve gone down deep…beyond this time and space. Especially in the night when all is still and quiet…not only in the darkest of waking hours but in sleep and in dreams.
I wonder if I’ve been changed in the night?
Let me think. Was I the same when I got up this morning?
I almost think I can remember feeling a little different.
But if I’m not the same, the next question is
“Who in the world am I?”
Ah, that’s the great puzzle!
~Alice in Wonderland
Seems, I have changed in the night-I am not the same. Hmmm…that is not only okay with me, I welcome it for I needed to change. Maybe, just maybe..I’ll seek out the sweeter, richer, and deeper things more. I know lately, I find myself even more willing to embrace the life lessons offered to us, if we are ready. We are part of this great puzzle. Ah yes, this sweet and precious puzzle of life..this amazing wonderland we are all traveling together!
So, my sweet family and friends I’ll leave you with something to ponder down deep…beyond this time and space.
are YOU gathering your roses, while you may?
I just recently discovered something…
It is at the edge of the petal
~William Carlos Williams
As for me, I intend to gather all the roses I can..for at the edge of the petal is where I wish to be!
I am wishing the same for all of you.
The sweetest, richest, and deepest..
Love, Light, and Laughter,
